Q. I am planning to visit the Shelton Park Church of God. What should I expect?
A. First of all let me direct you to a Welcome DVD presentation that Pastor Scott has put together to extend a little information concerning us. We at SPCOG believe that God has a purpose for all and that is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and has equipped the saints to perform that task.

Ministry happens in every meeting of people during life's endeavors, which means continually we must conduct and present ourselves as a living sacrifice for the gospels sake. Striving to bring forth the best of God in us.

This involves a learning process and in ministry it begins with salvation and continues until death; it is experiential and lifelong. No one is born with all the answers, we must strive for them.

The Gospel must be engaged in a unique fresh manner in every context, every time, and every place that is why we are committed to God's work and are not slothful concerning His commandments.

Every person has a unique configuration of gifts given by the Holy Spirit; no person is indispensable; every person is irreplaceable. Striving for unity in the body, scripture records "a house divided against itself will fall". We all have a common goal in mind. That is to let God shape the ministry, as He has given us the unique gifts and opportunities for specific ministries

A. The services are uplifting, not boring. At the SPCOG we believe the word of God. His word, states that where 2 or 3 are gathered in His name He is in the midst of us.
We have a threefold blessing:
Our praise/worship minister in these groups, Traditional under the direction of Bro. Louie Philbeck, Contemporary under the direction of Sis. Kim Isham, Congregational Choir under the direction of Bro. Philbeck. All produce a unique sound designed to minister to every generation. We also incorporate special singing under the leadership of Bro. Philbeck.
Pastor Scott preaches biblically relevant messages designed to help you grow spiritually and reach your full God-given potential while helping us endure life's obstacles.
